Easy Best Low Carb Cheese Ball & Chips


The perfect party or game day “cheese ball”. This low carb recipe is a truly universal one. Absolutely delicious flavor, but it's also wonderfully adaptable to add-ins, too. You can create an extra “spicy” or “hot” one, or easily create a ”theme” ball. With that said, this recipe will make a great cheese ball for most folks, not too hot and certainly not bland; just a nice “zippy” flavor that lingers nicely on the tongue.

As this recipe is a “classic” and seems to always be so well enjoyed by all that I often have thought; Why make any other kind of cheese ball? This is the quintessential standard by which all cheese balls evolve. It's not fancy, easily modified, and never disappoints in the taste department, so why fuss?

For game day, maybe shape it into a football. Any way you do it, it's easy and “no bake”. Served with the Low Carb Bagel Chips or Cornita™ Corn Crisps, this recipe it's completely low carb because, after all, everyone wants to scoop their cheeses onto something nice and crunchy now don’t they?

This recipe makes 8-10 servings, but recipe may be doubled for great balls of cheese!



  • 1 1/2 Cups grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4oz cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons chopped green olives
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (like Lawry’s)
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4oz chopped pecans or ¼ cup pecan meal


Mix all the ingredients in a medium size bowl, except the pecans. Form ball or a “football” if desired, and roll or cover the cheese ball with pecans.
Wrap cheese ball in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours or speed chill in the freezer for 1 hour. Makes 8-10 servings. Less than 1 net carb per cheese ball serving.

For spreading, serve with Low Carb Bagel Chips or Cornita™ Corn Crisps.

*Omit olives, replace with chopped green onion
*Use a blend of both sharp and mild cheddar cheeses
*Add chopped or diced pimento
*Add 2 teaspoons mustard
*Add bleu cheese to the basic mixture
*For spicy, or “hot” version, add red chili flakes or shake some Louisiana Hot Sauce in
*Add diced green chilies
*Add chopped bacon pieces
*Add chopped smoked salmon
*Add chopped ham or prosciutto
*Add chopped cilantro
*Use ¼ cup shredded pepper jack cheese along with the cheddar
or shredded Gouda (regular or smoked)
*For spicy cheese ball, add one jalapeno, seeded and chopped
