10 Minute Low Carb Chili


There are so many different kinds of chili and while you may have a favorite type, it always seems to be a satisfying meal, no matter what kind you enjoy. You could call this a good, basic, everyday “skillet chili”…it’s a breeze to make and is rich & thick. If you want to jazz it up, just add your own special touches from time to time. Like, want it hot and spicy? Just add hot sauce or a dash of red pepper.

With only 5 ingredients, what’s not to love? Make a quick batch to freeze and portion it out for on-the-go lunches, or easy TV time meals. Anyway you make it, it’s a great addition to an everyday busy schedule these days. Made to order for keeping your diet in check, while enjoying homemade good comfort food.

To change it up, try adding in some of the suggested variations and serving it with the Low Carb Bagel Chips or Cornita™ Corn Crisps for a nice crunchy side bread. It's hard to believe you can make a nice low carb chili this way, but you certainly can. The pasta sauce makes it super easy and saves so much time. It also eliminates lots of carbs and a zillion other extra cooking time required ingredients.



  • 6 Cups water
  • 1 Pound coarse chili ground meat or hamburger
  • 1 Package Zesty Italian Low Carb Pasta Sauce Mix (2 inner bags)
  • 2/3 Cup chopped onion (frozen, already chopped, is fine)
  • 2 Tablespoons chili powder


  • shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 4.5 oz can diced green chilies
  • 1/2 Teaspoon black pepper


Makes 8 servings, 3 net carbs per serving.

In large skillet, brown the chili meat and drain most of the grease off; leaving some in for added flavor. Add the onions to the cooked meat in the skillet and cook for 3 minutes, until softened. Stir in both inner bags of the pasta sauce mix, chili powder and water. Stir well and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Top with shredded cheese, if desired. Serve with low carb crackers or Low Carb Bagel Chips or Cornita™ Corn Crisps. Makes 8 servings, just 3 net carbs per serving.

*Add 1 teaspoon ground cumin
*Add 1 - 4.5 oz. can diced green chili
*Add 1 teaspoon garlic powder
*Top with sour cream & sliced green onions
*For spicy chili, add 2 chopped and seeded Jalapenos
*Add 1 - 6 oz. can of tomato paste (will add carbs)
*For “Hot” chili, add hot sauce to taste
*For “Sloppy Joe” chili, add sliced green peppers
